Goodbye Zizou

Having been in Europe for about 3 years has really made me a football freak. Perhaps the one incident that made me a total freak was the 2001 UEFA Champions League final. It was bayer Leverkusen and Real Madrid and although there wasn't much doubt as to who the winner would be, the individual brilliance from one man stood out.

It was the first time I saw Zidane play live. (I could only watch the highlights of the 98 world cup and euro 2000 championships). The goal that he scored that final was the sprinkle of holy water that baptized me into football fanaticism.

Zizous not going to play for France anymore but as long as he plays for Madrid, there is still hope for fans to see the master at work.
